This is my third year plein air painting at the Lavender Fields in Beaumont, CA. This one is titled, "Happy Fields" because I was feeling happy and contented, enjoying the lavender-scented breeze, the intensity of the color , and the camaraderie of fellow painters. What continues to delight me about plein air painting is the choice to use a fresh approach to a familiar subject. The approach can vary by using different brushes, a different format, a newcomer color. My approach can be more deliberate on 'serious' days, or 'let fly-let's see what happens' on spirit soaring days. Highland Springs Resort, Beaumont, CA  June 2016
