Fossil Falls Triptych

"Fossil Falls Triptych" was created for an Abstract Themed Exhibit, "The Language of Color". While camping at Fossil Falls, I did a plein air sketch of the falls in the distance.  I hiked over for a closer look and took photos that fortunately included other hikers for scale. Given the chaotic sculptural feature, a TRIPTYCH seemed the way to go. Painting a Representational Abstract seemed like a good way to push color and push design over chaos. Creatively it was a stretch for me, and FUN to paint! July 2019
