May Gray Day

"May Gray Day" was painted plein air (on site) of the Big Tujunga Wash looking NE from (outside the fence of) the Angeles National Golf Course in Sunland. A group of artists who weekly paint the LA River (and its tributary system) met there one Tuesday. It was gray, not raining. There was wonderful color in the clouds with shafts of sunlight piercing through now and again, but mostly lightening the landscape below. It was an opportunity to explore a range of grays that day.  May 24, 2016
