Five Arrived

"Five Arrived" is a still life inspired by my recent collecting of Zuni Corn Maiden carvings and my seasonal love of Indian Corn. Is it really a"Still life" when I compose sculptural elements in a landscape setting? It is not a scene painted from life as in "plein air" landscape painting, and the elements are not natural to the landscape. They are objects arranged to my liking (in my studio) in a setting of my choosing (using plein air studies). So what is it? Fanciful Landscape? Storytelling Still life? Imaginative Illustration?
