This is the second California Aqueduct painting I've done in Valyermo, CA. Easy access at multiple points makes it possible. The desert lighting and backdrop keeps me interested. The black, duck-like birds (American Coots?) were swimming 'into the sunset' when I took their photo; their position helps direct the viewer's eye toward the focal point. November 2014.
