Pond Sycamore

Visitors familiar with Eaton Canyon in Altadena, CA might recognize this Sycamore by this pathway pond. I was set up backed into the bushes across the way. The dappled light on trunk and pond surface caught my eye. One might like to think those are lily pads; they are not. Pond scum, and a beautiful shade of yellow green, and protected! But overlook that tainted word of 'lower' plant life and enjoy the aesthetics of the colors. Insect heaven, that pond. (which is why one keeps bug spray with the painting supplies!)
